NOCO’s sustainable energy services can help!
Due to activism before and after the first Earth Day in 1970, initiatives such as the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act were implemented, which helped to reduce air and water pollution in the United States.
While those efforts have helped, several significant challenges remain. Trash is overrunning our waters, with two enormous garbage islands more than twice the size of Texas in the Pacific Ocean. Soil erosion and a decrease in trees that transform carbon dioxide into oxygen are consequences of worldwide deforestation.
The danger of climate change-related damage is increasing. Antarctica recently had a heatwave that sent temperatures soaring 70 above normal. The Conger Ice Shelf, approximately the size of New York City, sheared off Antarctica and collapsed into the South Ocean in March.
There are things we as individuals can do to help the environment. We can recycle and compost. We can reduce our electricity usage at home with more efficient lighting and appliances. We can choose fuel-efficient vehicles.
A big way we can help is by reducing the environmental impact of our homes. NOCO offers several ways to do just that.
Solar
Our Community Solar program helps supply clean solar energy to the local power grid. When you sign up for Community Solar, you help build solar projects right here in Western New York. You get a share of the solar energy generated and you receive a credit on your electric bill for your share of the electricity generated by Community Solar!
Geothermal
We provide clean, emissions-free heating and cooling to your home by using the land your home sits on! With geothermal, the ground heats or cools water running through it to keep your home comfortable.
High-efficiency equipment
Heating and cooling your home accounts for half your home’s energy consumption. Water heating accounts for about 20%. Our high-efficiency home heating, cooling, and water heating equipment will help you reduce your energy uses without you having to sacrifice one bit of comfort.
